Starbucks Seasonal Beverages by Emily Gong
With the crisp air, cool to the touch of bare skin unprotected by a comforting sweater, and the bright blue sky untainted by the usual bleached clouds, you could say this is an almost flawless autumn morning. Almost, that is. What are you missing? A seasonal autumn drink from Starbucks, of course.
Most Chargers are quite familiar with the ubiquitous coffee shop; caffeine is that mystical, magical substance that can revive overwhelmed students from a seemingly permanent state of sleep-deprived catatonia. But coffee can be more than just a much-needed simulant; in fact, it can be something truly celebratory. For instance, to commemorate a season of colorful leaves, the smell of cinnamon, and beanies, Starbucks coffee company currently offers some of its most cherished blends and customer favorites. During autumn, you are sure to find that Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Salted Caramel Hot Mocha, and the new Chocolate Chai Tea Latte have appeared in your local coffee shop. However, when winter arrives, Starbucks will bring out its red cups, symbolizing the transition to its holiday drinks. Seasonal winter drinks include Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog Latte, and Peppermint Mocha topped with festive red sprinkles. On the official Best Starbucks Drinks List, the White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha takes the top rank, with Pumpkin Spice at number 9 and Gingerbread Latte at 14. Finally, when you are craving something to quench your thirst during the summer, head over to Starbucks for a Valencia Orange Refresher, or an Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade. Each Valencia orange refresher is made with real fruit and each 12-ounce Tall comes in at around 70 calories each.
Of course, the classic Starbucks Drinks are always available for a quick caffeine fix; still, the pungent smells of seasonal flavors help celebrate the joy of each changing season. But once they are gone, they won’t be back for another year- enjoy them while you can.
So, on a perfect autumn day such as today; will you make a Starbucks run?
